Seeking salvation?
In 1981, my wife Arlene was healthy, strong and vibrant.  She had no prior medical history of sickness and disease of any kind.  Without warning, simple activities, such as holding a drinking glass, became impossible.  She also began experiencing pain and difficulty walking.  A series of medical tests revealed that she had a condition called “lupus”.  Despite her diagnosis, and the doctors’ inability to heal her condition through various treatments, we consulted the Great Physician Jesus Christ, who was able to give her not only a new diagnosis but he completely healed and delivered her of lupus.

The Diagnosis
1. Recognize that you are a sinner, you broke God’s Law and are in need of his forgiveness Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

How Did This Happen
2. The nature of sin was passed upon us by the first man Adam and we have also chosen to sin.

    • Romans 5:12 - Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
    • Romans 5:19 - For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Because we are in this condition of helplessness, where we are really unable to provide what God needs (righteousness), we are in need of God’s Mercy

God’s Mercy
3. God saw us in our helpless state and imprisoned to sin unable to help ourselves.  So, He acted on our behalf in order to help us and free us from the prison of sin.

  • John 3:16-17 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved.
  • Romans 5:8 - But God commandeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

God's Prescription
4. God not only sent us the help we needed though Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, but he presently instructs us in how to receive the help and to experience a change in our lives.

God instructs us to first repent which means to think differently to realize your sinful ways and to be sorrowful to the point of turning away from your sins to God and asking Him to forgive you and come into your life.

  • Mark 1:15 - (Jesus said) the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand:  Repent ye, and believe the Gospel.
  • Romans 10:9-10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
  • Romans 5:9-10 - Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from the wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being  reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
  • Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

If you are ready to accept God’s remedy please pray this prayer:
Dear God in heaven, I come to you in Jesus Name.  I ask You to forgive me of my sin, wash me in your blood.  Come into my heart and save me now.  I accept you as my Lord and Savior and I will follow you the rest of my life.  Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and give me power to live for you in Jesus name. Amen
